There are numerous existing assets on the Romainville site:-
- Undeniable qualities of the infrastructure, both in their geographical position (Paris region, near to the Gares du Nord and de l’Est, near to the Roissy airport) as well as in the size and the diversity of the premises available (administrative, technical, chemical and biological laboratories, animal facilities) and in addition, perfectly adapted to the work realized (2 P3 labs).
- All of these infrastructures are naturally connected by a computer network and supported by efficient and qualified « support site » services.
- Important, high quality laboratory equipment and materials, which offer by their specificity and extremely short implementation deadlines, relative to any subcontractor, an exceptional asset for this site (such as the columns of preparative chromatography for chemistry and biology).
- Highly qualified R&D staff, relying on an experience and a know-how, of which the list of molecules found, developed and now being marketed is the best proof. Accustomed to the requirements of quality assurance, to “good practises” of all types and to regulatory problems, these staff in the main, have a culture and an identity which are an undeniable pointer to success.
- A significant background which translates into a wealth of chimiothèque and patents, and to a mass of documents, publications, techniques, results and procedures archived. This background, allied to the experience of the staff, allows the development of molecules in multiple domains (anti-infectious, cancerology, endocrinology, respiratory, analgesia, rheumatology, cardiovascular…) and predicts a marked interest on the part of small or medium pharmaceutical entities, but also of public research, for a structure capable of effecting a turnkey development and high quality molecules.
In addition, the presence of such a structure, as subsequently defined, would be of great value for the good functionning of all the scientific entities based on the site. This necessity is shown by the company "Proskélia", based at Romainville and which collaborates closely with Aventis from which it is descended and tomorrow with the new entity which would be created.
